Regarding that last piece about a assumably future dev stream.

Please, please, please begin them on time. Irritating for me and appears sloppy on your end if streams begin late.
If the stream is advertised to begin 8PM Eastern, the stream should begin at 8PM Eastern. Take them seriously and take your players time seriously.

The stream goes live on time. The loading screen plays for several minutes to allow viewers/followers to get notified that the stream has gone live and/or plenty of time to join. This also helps keep us from having to repeat things while viewers are joining.

Do any Dev's or QA testers playtest on Insane/Nightmare/FeralSense?

If so, how does it feel in A21 with the water changes? Is permadeath possible?

I love Feral Sense and play with it on all the time. IMO, day time feral sense should be the default setting for vanilla. The world feels more alive with zombies coming out of every nook and cranny of a town.
For me and my play style, the water survival challenge lasts 3-4 days and then starts to become "normal" again. I use Vending Machines and Traders a lot more.
Perma-death has been discussed for a long time. I "think" it's on a to do list somewhere. Will have to wait and see though.

Question for @Kinyajuu: will you be able (and is it planned) to introduce bridges over "rivers" in the new RWG?

    Thanks :yo:

These were in for a short while, but were buggy with the rotations and how they fit together with the rest of the world gen.
Brad and Robert are cooking up some nice changes for A21 RWG that they will more than likely showcase in a dev stream. Stay tuned for that.

So a dew collector placed in the wasteland biome still produces pure water? Maybe it's really only kinda-semi-realistic survival. 😛

No different than scooping up and boiling 100's of jars of murky water from a wasteland river or lake. What's your point exactly?

This is not exactly a major thing but will A21 see the cop's exploding chunks get updated? Still find it weird that his bits are from the old model

Yup! Ran out of time to get the new gibs done in time for the A20 launch. He still works, so it shipped.

Lots of things will be in various states of WIP from here to Gold!

Questions about the filter helmet mod:
Does the mod remove or lower the HP cost of dirty water?

Also, how much HP does it cost to drink dirty water each time? Also, is it the same hydration and HP cost from drinking from a water source?

The mod removes all side effects from hand drinking and murky water. Without it, it would be -5HP per drink as well as a 12% risk of dysentery. It has a gain of 10 water.

That mod will be the new must find item.

    1. How much more expensive are drinks now in the vending machines/traders?

Vending machines now match the prices of traders. Just remember that you can't barter with a machine.

    2. Are there plans for nerfing food on wheels on the snow biome ?

The reason for the question is this:

The frequency of animals in the snow biome has been reduced.

    3. Can we pick up the dew collector like any other work station?

    Yup!

    4. What is the capacity of the Dew Collector? (How many units of water can it hold?)

    Three

    1. more drink choices (milkshakes, etc)

Where do we get the milk?

    20 minutes ago, Speedworx said:

    2. animals you have to look after (cows, pigs, horses, etc)

Cows are too slow and got eaten by all the zombies.
    We have boars.
Everyone would want to ride the horses and we just don't have the bandwidth to add that right now.
Animal Husbandry is not within the scope of this game.

We have several ideas for this, but not working on it yet.

    20 minutes ago, Speedworx said:

    4. more variety of POIs (train station and tracks, airports)

We currently have over 630 POI's.
We do have a train station in one of the RWG tiles.
The airport has been a topic for a VERY long time. We'll see what shakes out later down the road, but don't get your hopes up.

    20 minutes ago, Speedworx said:

    5. stop making every house a potential trader quest

We have nearly 100 abandoned or remnant POI's that are not quest-able. That doesn't even include all of the POI parts or RWG tiles that are fully explorable.

Speaking of traders:  Are y'all planning on giving us the capability to create custom Gateway tiles?  It appears that the game is coded so that there can be only one GW tile that is used by all cities/towns/etc......   I'm working on a water-based tile system, and the one thing that's throwing it off is the gateway tile....   :(

I think that's on the to do list. Not 100% sure though. @Kinyajuu would know more about that.

  9. The game is designed and balanced to default settings. We allow players to change those settings, but doing so will come with various results. You could change it to Nightmare, always run, horde everyday, 5 minute days, and 25% loot. Your gonna have a bad time, but that is your choice.

  10. Yes. Some of the test team have been playing 2 hour days for fun and found that the collector is much slower. First couple of days may be slightly harder, but they do get more day time to loot so there really isn't too much an issue.

Are dew collectors movable? Someone mentioned nomadic play style, but IMO those huge collectors shouldn't be movable at all.

What's the difference between a nomadic life and a stationary play style, if nomads can get their "base" with them?

They can be picked up inside land claimed areas like all the workstations and electrical traps.

Nah. It'll be fine. You never get a bowl from eating a stew or a gas can after filling up the 4x4.

This. No reason to update the jar icons.

There is one thing that I would be very interested in. Where in the progression path is the Crucible located?

Currently it is on level 5 of Advanced Engineering. Most of the time you can find the recipe before you unlock level 5 and you can also buy it from the trader when you are at level 3 of Better Barter.

They are at the end of the workstation crafting magazine tree which only requires 75 Forge Ahead Magazines to be read. Advanced Engineering will boost the probabilities of finding those magazines. You can also purchase the magazines from the trader or get them as quest rewards.

Crucibles are very rare items that can be found in very specific loot containers that starts around level 100 .
They are also for sell at the traders. Trader Bob has a higher chance of having one since he will be the tools and vehicles guy.

  13. Our mid/late game food recipes give all sorts of benefits. With the new progression system, you'll be able to unlock them all without the need of perks. Perks help finding those magazines more often, but it is no longer a requirement.

I consume about 100 duct tape per week just for exploding bolts.

You could try a different horde night strategy. Lots of options available. I've been having a TON of fun with my melee only horde bases. Saves a TON of ammo.

what about the helmet filter that somehow magically cleans the murky water you drink from jars? Will this still remove the chance of dysentry when drinking from a body of water?

This mod is still available and works the same as it currently does. Safely drink from bodies of water or jars of murky you find.

there is so much glue in the world , i dont think there are many times in the last 4 or 5 playthroughs that i have ever needed to craft glue! I think i have nearly 200 rolls of duct tape in my storage right now .

    Exactly

so we are to believe we have several "VIRTUAL "canteens that carry out portions of goldenrod tea and our red tea etc...

are we to loose the empty can as well now? i mean it has no purpose at all except it can be scrapped.

    Cans are gone too.
No canteen, just carry the stack of tea like you do now. Murky to Water to Tea is still the crafting path. You just don't get the empty jars back.

cant scrap jars to get the broken glass to make scopes.

Go punch a window or smelt some sand.

have you guys thought of reducing the 3 units of water per day (or making it fail to produce water sometimes) and  increasing/guaranteing them bia a workstation "mod"?

Thought about it, but no mods as of now.

We have a question about the new looting system with the bonuses to find things in the looter's skill tree.  Does this apply across a party, or is it only character by character?

Also, yeah, we don't get the idea of having no empty bottles anymore.  It just doesn't fit the gameworld logic.

If you perk into shotguns, you find more shotgun related loot, not your party.
You'll be fine without jars. Not near as bad as everyone thinks. At 17K hours in game, I have no issues with them gone.

And what about all the different smoothies, teas and COFFEE!! lol gotta have coffee.

Still found in rare loot and craftable. Traders and vending machines have them too!

So with the traders finally being properly balanced in A21 and the price of beverages in vending machines going up, can we expect a discount on trader items to combat the inflation that occurred as a result of the a20 trader balance?  Every day our dukes are worth less and less.  Or maybe you could give us 10% more dukes by default.

Yup! There are perks for that. :D

    7 hours ago, POCKET951 said:

Also, what will we find in cabinets in A21 since 95% of them contain jarred beverages or empty jars in A20? @schwanz9000

Mostly junk for crafting, seeds, magazines, and a sprinkling of bad food or canned goods.
Think of it this way. You no longer have to throw the jars on the ground all the time.

I've never yet found one in loot but I've bought them from traders for 1500 Dukes a pop. You might be screwed but they may also be a rare loot drop that I haven't found yet. You could make them a loot drop or even make them craftable in order to support your anti-trader gamestyle. Zztong had some great recipe ideas up above for crafting a filter.

They are a rare loot drop, quest reward, or trader purchase. Not craftable.

It does increase the survival factor in the game at the beginning, but people are already annoyed when it comes to having to harvest and replant their garden on a regular basis. Now they also have to set up a field of dew collectors and harvest them on a daily basis in order to have enough water to produce glue in larger quantities. Currently, in Horde Night, my primary weapon is a crossbow with exploding bolts. I use about 100 bolts per horde. That's 100 duct tape and therefore 100 glue every week.

TONS of glue in loot. Why is everyone so stuck on the glue production thing? I rarely craft glue I find so much.

    4 hours ago, Neminsis said:

As someone that regularly starts with iron gut I don't see how this change to water is going to make any difference to me early game since I'm already drinking the murk and eating the sandwiches anyway, but the space required on a roof to put up a farm for glue production is going to limit the number of usable pois for bases pretty severely. 6 dew collectors at 3x3 takes up 54 square meters of space.  There's not a lot of roofs that can handle that and the 30 needed for a self-supporting farm.

You know you can build your own building, right?
