  1. I have been enjoying the Roobie seed map. Pluses and minuses of this map IMO are: + There is tons of Nitrite and coal all over the ground in the green biomes. No need to dig mines. + There many huge mines on this map with nitrite. I have found at least 10 mines so far. + Lots of ranger stations with gun safes. Maybe 15 or more so far - Because of all the water, areas in the north, the east and west sides of the map cannot be gotten to easily above the hub city I did manage to make a safe passage corridor through the wasteland above the hub city where I have trader marked on the map I lined a path with frames so I can drive the mini bike safely through the wasteland area to get to that trader without being blown up by mines. I have found 8 traders, but most are in the upper half of the map I marked them on the map with red boxes The only trader that is way out of the way is the one in the lower left corner of the map. And maybe the one in the upper left corner in the snow biome. I down sized this map so it would make the 2mb file limit The map is a big round circle
  2. This is on console version? I see GWN listed as a PC mod?
  3. I like this rooftop-sniper rifle horde defense This screen shot shows only a partial area of the aftermath of day 42 horde. The kill zone extends left-right and down the hill. It takes a while to gather up all the loot.
  4. Spartan and other console gamers all record in 720p for their YT content I suppose because the console version is 720p ☺️ I watch some of the PC players The graphics are way nicer Can't wait to play the new console version on my Xbox series X I can play at 4k 60fps on other games But on fast paced shooters, I dial it back to 1440p
  5. I built a simple 7 by 7 block base with a concrete block perimeter and steel railings I stand on top to fight the hordes with the sniper rifle This lets me collect all the loot because the Z's are not piling up on top of each other and then exploding On night 42 I had exactly 100 Z's come to the base. I added the front entrance/walkway No Z's had tried to climb it so far The wood spikes just keep them off the concrete surround If they even make it to my base The sniper keeps them at bay and they don't pile up and explode
  6. yeah, I had loads of loot on Navezgane. I never had to craft any benches, mixers, chem stations Roobie is not bad for zombie loot but I have yet to find a workbench, mixer or a forge anywhere except at traders. I did find a Chem station in a pills and I grabbed that for my base I had to craft a workbench, forge and cement mixer One big plus to this map is that there is Nitrite and coal everywhere in the green areas. I have also found 4 mines with nitrite. Two of them I found by driving the mini bike into the abyss and had to dig ramps to get out 😁 I am updating my Roobie map as I expose new areas I am keeping to the green areas in the east There are 5 traders in my area that I marked in red on the map I attached as a png file I had to down size the map here because of the 2mb limit
  7. I am playing the old console version on a Xbox series X next gen I saw a youtube video of the Roobie (capital R) seed and it looked like a nice map with 11 cities/towns The guy did not give away too much map info. I posted that video below So after playing Navesgane up to about day 160 and getting the hang of the game, I decided to start a new game using the Roobie seed The green area's near the hub city are really nice, but the hub city was nasty. It was wasteland surrounded by all the other biomes which was nice. You can see that in the video I found a huge mine just outside of a town with hundreds of nitrite and decided to build a small camp near it. 3 traders are nearby and I had the mini bike built by day 16 I have a forge, workbench and concrete mixer set up and I am wanting to craft a Chem station but having a hard time finding one or finding beakers to craft one The only issue I have noticed with this Roobie seed is that the loot is no where as good as it was in Navesgane Looting the stores like shotgun, pill, tools, etc, the loot is slim Is that the norm for a generated map compared to Navesgane? I attached an image from the video showing the area next to the hub city where I am currently set up
  8. I play the old console version on Xbox series X. The next gen Xboxes try to save quick launch data. This game is not set up to be able to quick launch on the Xbox series consoles Closing the game does not let you start the game from scratch on my Series X like it did on my Xbox One X console On the Series consoles here's what I have been doing (1) As was mentioned above, exit the game every hour or so or at the end of a day and then re-start it. (2) Sometimes the game will jump back to the main menu after attempting to start it Do not try and start it again or the game may get corrupted or send you back to a previous save point and lost data I have also had the game crash by using the menu button to pause the game. Do the same thing as I mentioned above, do not try and re-start the game Do this first after a crash Hit the 3 bar menu button on the controller Go to Manage Game and Add-ons Saved Data Your profile Delete from console only - Do not delete everywhere! Restart the game The game will then download your data from the cloud and you should be fine
  9. Excellent info! That pretty much answered my questions. I just discovered the Army Barracks camp yesterday. I made a note to go back and loot it. Thanks for the heads up on the mines there. OK, I did not realize the burnt forest had no land mines. That is good to know I can enter there and not get blown up. If I have to go into the wasteland again, I will do the wood frames trick.
  10. I can dispel the mini bike theory. I have been blown up twice while riding the mini bike And it was a long way back on foot to recover my gear. 😠 I was hoping there was a sure fire way to clear mines. I don't really wander through the areas with mines now, but I have a couple air drops about 100 feet into these zones that I would like to recover I suppose I could put everything in a box and drop a sleeping bag next to the box If I got blown up, I would spawn right where I started. Maybe just keep a shotgun in my tool belt in case dogs showed up. Thanks for the replies all.
  11. Thanks for the replies. I know to watch out for the obvious mines that lay on the surface. Like hub caps, etc The mines that got me are not visible. I will try and spot the fuse pins if I can on the buried ones Any way to clear them ahead of where you are walking? Sometimes my air drops land in the areas where there are mines and I would like to clear a path to them and return on the same path if possible
  12. I am playing on Xbox Series X. Waiting on next gen version to be release. I have gotten around the crashes by reloading from the cloud after a crash. πŸ€” Only been playing a couple weeks. I have a question about land mines. (After stepping on a few of them) Are they only in the wasteland and burnt forest? I walk very careful and slowly looking at the ground but I cannot see the mines , so they must be buried? Is there any way to create a safe path by exploding mines using shotguns or some other device?
  13. Ok, I lost a few items one time on my Series X. I now know how to avoid that. Normal way to make sure everything gets saved. I wait until I see the red 7 in the upper right which means the game has saved to disk. If I quit the game and restart, all is good. If the game crashes on Xbox Do not restart the game. While hovering over the game in the Xbox menu, use the 3 line hamburger menu button Then go into the manage game and ad ons menu. Important! - Delete the data from the console only. Do not delete the data from the cloud. Restart the game and it will down load your data from the cloud. So far this has worked great and I have not lost any data This guy does a good job of explaining how that is done
  14. I just started playing on a Xbox Series X. The game has crashed back to the main menu a few times over the last 4 days Re-starting the game again, all my stuff is still there in inventory and tool belt. I have not built a base yet and so I don't know if I would have lost my base or not? This video explains how to delete local saved data and have the game download fresh data from the cloud https://youtu.be/A0JxM-Z9kQ0 I have done this technique for other games in the past and it works great if the game has weird glitches.
  15. I play with keyboard/mouse using a XIM Apex. There is a 7 days config in the config listings that you can download into the XIM and modify however you like It works great, but you need to have the mobile app and blue tooth on to talk to the XIM https://store.xim.tech/XIM-APEX_p_18.html
