  1. Hi, guys. I haven't been around for while because I thought a few months off would help the development time pass faster. I gotta say, I'm surprised to see this thread not replaced by one for A22 yet... I know, you've been talking about it, I read the last few pages. I was going to make a mostly-joke about that being because they were planning to surprise us by saying, "Haha, there is no A22, next up is 1.0!" but I see someone already did on this very page. I haven't been able to find anything about why there's not a countdown to A22 yet. Can I assume the reason is that it's still many months away?
  2. I built a massive house in-game several months ago and I haven't exported it as a POI yet. I'd like to install the new alpha, but I want to save my base first... I notice Steam updated something, so I want to make sure it's safe. Before I risk anything, when I launch the game, will it still be A20? I'm sure this is an elementary question, but I want to be very sure. Thanks!
  3. Three months? I hadn’t heard that one.
  4. That is compelling evidence that you and I have verrrrry different play styles. I would hate a base that auto-repaired.
  5. I just mean conceptually, and for my personal taste. When it comes to zombie media I like my zombies to be dead. 28 Days Later-style viruses are prosaic for me; gimme the supernatural or total ambiguity and I'm happy. Plus I don't find anything appealing about shooting loads of sick people.
  6. Well, I hope that's not the case. There's nothing duller than "virus" zombies. Look at me, keeping my cool with the OCD bit. Why, I'm not even mentioning it.
  7. Ahh, I see. I didn’t start thinking about honey until after I could cut trees, so I had no idea.
  8. I was going to mention the trellis, as well. I was starting to wonder if it were different in some way. Hang on, are stumps good for something?
  9. You’re way off-target. I don’t want it used as an adjective because it’s a crime against language. It’s a freakin’ noun. When it comes to usage, the internet slang application is just too damn stupid to live. Demand more eloquence from your colloquialisms. If you want to come up with a less clumsy way to slangify “OCD,” I’m all for it, and I’ll consider your grant proposal. Now, as for taking offense, you’re certainly welcome to your opinion - I’m rabidly opposed to hyper-cautious language myself - but there are some major logical flaws in your golf parallel and your assumption about my underlying mentality is a wide miss, though understandable. I’m not keen to discuss it further, though, for a whole host of reasons, not least because I’m aware I dragged things WAY off topic.
  10. My sincere apologies. You and me both. I just get so very, very, very, very sick of hearing people use it as a goofy euphemism for being picky, and seeing it three times in five minutes got on my last untrodden nerve today. I also failed to notice two of them were from the same person. 🤦‍♂️ It’s a testament to my frayed nerves that I thought for minute you might actually do that. With that in mind, for the love of all that’s holy, I beg you to stop using it as an adjective. For me. As a favor.
  11. Man, you people really don’t get what OCD is.
  12. True, but so will the planet-wide cold fusion energy grid.
  13. Hey, Star Citizen’s new alpha just dropped. You guys gonna let them win?!
  14. Did a whole bunch of posts just disappear?
  15. Oh, hey, one is! I’m genuinely surprised. I Googled ‘em but could only find photos and no concrete dates. I almost included “as far as I know,” but he looked so darn young. It doesn’t change the essential point, but I stand corrected: one is a baby boomer. “Baby boomer,” btw, is not an insult, but “boomer” generally is, and even if it weren’t it would have been in this context. But honestly, enough said.
  16. Well, that’s what I’m getting at. Your post was clearly intended to be supportive and kind, but you appear to have not only included a term that’s generally understood to be a slur - and an inaccurate one since none of TFP are in their 60s - but also the assertion that any devs actually of that age would be bad at their jobs. From your tone, I gotta think you didn’t intend that, but, y’know… words.
  17. No, seriously. Boomer using the general internet slang meaning or some other definition?
  18. I do hope it can be hidden. It’s a little… big… for immersion purposes.
  19. Eesh, the sense of entitlement is like a fog in here.
  20. They wouldn’t have to be “excused,” it’s their game.
  21. Huh. I’m okay with having missed that stage of the game’s development.
