  1. There are treasure maps and that's about it now. There used to be the simpler quests (like Nailing Chicks) that did not require traders to get the reward but those have all been changed to now require a trader in your world to get the benefits of doing the quest. Some of us prefer to play without traders or at least have very few in the world. Besides that, variety is good and some of the mini quests have no real reason to require the trader interaction. Without traders these note you find are basically a scrap piece of paper and nothing special. Thank you for your t

  2. Seconded I use Atom for this game. It’s a bit heavy (slow to load, memory) but seems to work a little better overall on non windows systems. Visual Studio Code I use at work on windows and it’s solid. The “secret” to using either IMHO is: - load up the plugins you need to color code the text/XML :). It’s not much, but it really helps see everything. - learn how to open other mods (and your own) as well as the /Data/Config game folder (where all the XML is) as “a project” in these editors. This helps a lot when working with a lot of files. - learn how to “find something in t

  3. Personally, I haven't used any programs. Any learning came from analysing the cumulative offerings from the assortment of modders who have shared their techniques and creativity. In all cases I have used base code from the default or modded XML files to achieve things I wanted to do so far. I began last October and am slowly piecing things together. My initial step was to restore a mod from A18 to A19 and this forced me to trawl through the code looking for conflicts based on server error output. It was an intensive introduction but worth it. I am also very fortunate to be supporting oakraven

  5. Hey everyone, I decided to try something new with 7 days today. I modified my config files to make all other entities 1-hit blocks, and multiplied zombie spawning by 6. The playthrough is played on Warrior difficulty, and of course, given the name, the zombies also Run during the day, with nightmare speed 32 zombie hordes. World Gen Seed 8k: Cant Stop I'm already close to death, as I think I made this a bit too hard, but if anyone was interested in the concept, I welcome you to try it and see how long you can survive. I don't know how to mod yet, so sorry in advance if you'

  9. Well, A17 or A18 ran "OK" on this device back then But why doesn't it utilize all cores instead of scratching around the 25% CPU mark? €dit: Nope, its not. Issue found. This stuck was real. <property name="AdminFileName" value="..\config\serveradmin.xml"/> I tried to store all config files in same folder. Dedicated did not like that. Changed back to <property name="AdminFileName" value="serveradmin.xml"/> Now its up and kicking all the CPU cores while generating worlddata. €dit2: 4k World generat

  10. Hi @Canaa First you can comment out the section in the rwgmixer under prefablist or simply delete. Leaving the 4k section and 8k section. Then when you spawn in a 4k or 8k world the prefabs are not also added thru the game as well so you would be getting double ups. I did forget to comment it out lol.

  11. And halfway decent text editor will be able to edit XML files. Most people use Notepad++. I personally use Visual Studio Code (it also handles C#), and have used Atom extensively in the past. All of these are very good, and also free (open source), so try one to see what you like. Just don't use Word.

  12. I'm happy I created that lol, good balance of cringy ego and decent points I think. Just arrogant enough to not be taken seriously, but just meaningful enough to have a hint of a valid point. I was planning it all along... But of course! ... Yeah Good start! We don't need customers after all... Do you work in the sales department by any chance? Everyone was waiting to hear your opinion, you know it. That's why 2020 was so bad... but now 2021 is here finally! ... and your opinion of course! Don't worry, we all know

  13. Because of this, i would not restart the play. Perhaps you could adjust the offsets for these houses in the generated list of prefabs - but, i don't remember their names... Between patches, i make a lot of small changes that can`t be tracked... for this reason, i never publish detailed changelogs. Sleep is a very difficult mechanic for this game. Many ideas - are only good in the imagination. I have some work ideas, but my knowledge of C#is not enough. And simpler variants - do not make sense now.

  14. I feel like the game is perfect as is and every few updates gives me a whole new experience. If it was up to me they would stay an alpha game for the next ten years. Saying that I am looking forward to 1. Bandits (Future updates): Bandits will take the game to a whole new level. All us long time players will probably have to change up are gameplay. 2. Engine updates: I find myself just staring at the screen sometimes. Since playing from the beginning I absolutely appreciate how beautiful the game looks now. I have mad respect for Unity but I sometimes daydream about wh

  15. Yes, this one, and 5-7 more houses will hang in the world generated on version v19.03.01a. These hangings are related to the new height of these prefabs in the patch v19.03.01b. The claimed compatibility between these patches, due to my forgetfulness, turned out to be untrue... (temporarily, before entering - put logs under the building so that it does not collapse) PS: By the way, it turned out that the distribution of biomes, in general, was always the same in these versions - regardless of the seed. I can change it...but i don't know whether t

  16. If you look in the title bars for your inventory and the chest you will see 2 icons that look like boxes with arrows. If you click the one in your inventory that has the 3 arrows it will move everything to the storage box (if there is room. Or so much as it can if there is not. Starting from slot 1). If you have some items already in the chest, say 1000 yucca and you click the box with the single arrow in your inventory it will move enough yucca from your inventory to the chest to complete a stack. It's fairly easy to figure out by playing with them. Ok, doh. Disregard

  18. Yes, some people learn from their mistakes. I would be more concerned if you had to say "Sure did not stop them the first and second time". 😉 Yes, for example the telltale game "7 Dasy to Die" did. Naturally that depends on the definition of "finish". Since you probably meant bugfree or even that it has all the features the developer dreamed of, then no game can realistically ever be finished. DLC does mean the game is practically finished (in the sense of: the devs don't want to add any features anymore to the base game). DLC usually is optional content to a

  20. There are 2 primary zombie types in the Snufkin mod, as examples:- Archon which is zombie wight with some attachments, reskins, buffs, and the ability to fly. Undertaker which has been given its own Archetype of customised clothing, body shape, etc in addition to attachments and buffs. The first thing I did after going through some of the XML tutorials was explore the Snufkin mod Config folder and see what takes care of what. I began with attempting to extract a zombie so it became a standalone mod. I did this for the Scorcher. It was very much trial and error. I

  21. This should be obvious but I am not the Server Tools dev so while I am happy that you figured out your issue with the Server Tools xml you are grumbling about it in the wrong thread. Also hand editing XML files only works if you edit it correctly according to the software that reads it. It won't be able to process it if your editing isn't spot on with what it expects. I have no idea if Server Tools provides commands to set those things without resorting to hand editing XML but I expect it does. I don't think the descriptions in my XML file are bogus or misleading. 22. I'm curious why you believe that. Do you guys want to be like EA? Release games that are visually pretty, but fundamentally garbage? If so please reconsider because almost nothing that AAA publishers @%$# out is worth the time, let alone money, to play. This is just like, my opinion man, but the things that are holding you back are: The lack of variety as well as the hard tiering of weapons and armor. For example the sniper rifle is strictly better than the marksman rifle, and there are only 3 rifles total. Bugs, especially the gamebreaking ones like vehicle duping,

  23. Your game was similar to Project Zomboid in the sense where it was a REAL and RAW apocalypse experience, with infinite potential and all of my faith. Now? It's a god damn arcade game. Candy super powers. Growing skills like farming, cooking, engineering and hunting by... Killing, and building. Locking people's progressions into limited lists of perks by boxing everything into neat little attributes. Looting a tool store and finding a stone shovel instead of an Iron or Steel one. Looting a gun store and finding an improvised Blunderbuss and some stone arrows instead of a pistol. You, devs, used
