  5. Block versions of constructible vehicles would make it easier to balance vehicle salvage and loot, much less add extra utility to small pois or garages etc. Some suggestions: Bicycle/Minibike/Motorbike = Standing, fallen or crashed. Pre and Post apocalypse versions (spikes). Good to add to wilderness pois with no road and to garages etc Gyrocopter = Burned or crashed helicopters/planes on rooftops or smashed into homes/fields.

  6. Hey guys, I've released the next version of the mod! UPDATE 1.2.7! I've added the bedroll feature to three different beds (per the suggestion of RazorEye) and I've added the light feature to three existing items. I've also updated textures for one lamp, updated the light feature to work correctly for another lamp and I've updated several other things including Localizations, recipe ordering and new bundle loading that should help better optimize certain game files for increased performance! I've also patched the mod with an urgent fix to perk requirements fo

  7. Difficulty has meant different things over the course of development. It used to control the pace at which player game stage would ramp up but now it no longer does. The reason it was decoupled from difficulty was that loot was tied to gamestage for the first time which meant that a multiplier to increase gamestage no longer made things purely more difficult. Currently, difficulty controls how much damage enemies can take and how often they go into rage mode. The rate of progression is fixed across all difficulties but can be effected for whatever difficulty you choose by a

  8. 7 or 8 times just this week? Sheesh. You new to PC or something? I had a buddy do this in ARK a few times when he was on a bird. Never got old watching him plummet to his death. He finally rebound the key to R instead. That also got him killed at least once when he panicked and couldn't get on his bird. Lol. Anyways, maybe just learn your keyboard better? Or at least record your gameplay so we can get some entertainment from it.

  10. Rick is talking about a new product that will be created for new consoles. I was talking about the original product as was Madmole. If you read the full press release they say that the current version will get no further updates but that they hope to create a new version based upon the gold version. I highly doubt they will use any part of the one that was based off of Alpha 14 and somehow update that one into the PC Gold version on the new consoles. Any comments by Rick or Joel regarding future console versions are based on their press release and they are talking about ho

  11. I checked again. Yes, i must admit that the example with RWG was really bad. There were differences. They're small - but they're definitely not the same! I didn't notice them because of the tilt of the map. In addition - i myself deliberately made it so that the differences were not very strong in order not to disrupt the desired balance.... and forgot I'm sorry i misled you about this. I now experimented on this. I'm not sure right now, but it looks like the whole generation is based on the seed alone. Which, however, does not prevent this from getting non-rep

  12. This has been brought up before and one problem is, what counts as "player hoard"? Every container in every location in the entire world? So you have 20 Meat Stew and 10 First Aid Kits at your base 7,500m away, but you ran into a spot of trouble and are now bleeding, infected, and hungry. Sorry, pal, you've got all that stuff on the other side of the map! Or remember that one Shamway you were looting and there was too much stuff, so you left a bunch of canned goods in a random container somewhere in the store, intending to "come back later"? Well, that's now part of your hoard and

  14. What FlakAttack said. In essence you are trading gas for stamina/food and by using melee mostly also trading ammo for stamina/food. If you also don't use stealth to get in some cheap crit headshot damage in pois you are also trading time for stamina/food. Both gas and ammo can probably be aquired as fast or faster through mining. At least I get that impression when I look at the stacks of raw materials the miner can bring back after just one night of mining

  15. Stamina use is what causes food/water consumption to increase, and this right here is easily your greatest expense. Fuel is actually easy to get if you can get yourself to a desert. Mine out a buttload of oil shale and process it all down for fuel. No problem. Use fuel to get around and you won't eat nearly as much food.

Three choices in every life event: 1) Live with it. 2) Change it. 3) Stop it. The "Live with it" but cry like a baby, is still #1.

  17. There used to be a video file (video1.mp4) that we could change/overwrite so the TV's would play our videos. I see that is no longer a feature. I had found a TV in another modlet that had sound location data so if you walked away from the TV, the sound would get quieter. I haven't worked with Unity objects but I assume you did in order to reconstruct this. Any chance we could resurrect the ability to play our own videos through the TV again?

  18. I've never actually liked flying the gyrocopter. It is way too clunky. I think I'd rather have a blimp or something similar, slow but steady through the air. The motorcycle is by far my favorite vehicle. Not that it matters to this discussion.

  19. Interesting explanation.

  20. Even unwanted things can be good for a game. It would make flying the gyro a bit more difficult (which is good or bad depending on your viewpoint) and be an incentive to build runways for easier take off and landing near your base.

If your group’s cook is putting points in master chef, those are unlock at Perk level 4 in the strength tree which I think you only need Strength 5 for. That is where I am right now in my SP playthrough and I got gumbo, spaghetti, and 2 others I can’t think of the names of 2 more (one is tuna on toast I think).

  26. I actually like this aspect of survival where it can affect you dynamically during a sticky situation and affect the outcome, if not properly managed. I preferred to eat glass for a while starting out, when I first started but I think I can reliably feed 3 people now, but it is a bit of a struggle early/mid game, which is fine IMO. I’d say you’d need at least 2 if not 3 to help with the food coffers, so one does not get burnt out doing one chore, and can actually have more time to enjoy other parts of the game. Please don’t buff iron gut, however there should be more fo

  27. Ok. I made the following test: I used a test game, turned difficulty to warrior. Boosted my level, so I had gamestage 194. Got myself a steel sledgehammer, a .44 desert vulture, a motorbike and a full set of steel armor, plus urban combat books 6 and 7. Learned Skull Crusher, SexRex, heavy armour and pack mule to max. Also gunslinger and run and gun. I did not learn any Iron Gut! Then I got a lvl1 quest 380m away from the trader (one of the mansards). Noted down time and food value. Drove to the quest building and meleed and ran my way through the building, opening every conta

  28. It depends on how much stamina you use. If you travel a lot on foot or on a bike, or work in the mine with a pickaxe, or fight a lot in close combat, then you consume a lot of stamina, which is regenerated through food consumption. It is true that the food consumption is not realistic but neither is the growth rate of the plants. To be fair, food consumption has been worse. In A17 you had to be at max food all the time because you quickly fell below the limits where hunger had an effect on your stamina.

BTW when I started playing around 10.x my GTX was quite adequate for this game, it could easily pull like medium settings. But you also have a Core2 Duo to top it out! Man! Hope DedMoroz brings you a new PC this year)))

  30. When we got bored of the PVE and started killing each other in a village, we built a base nearby, (as the horde nights were still running). We dug down to rock and laid down a block of reinforced concrete for the foundations, then a wide floor with gentle slopes to get onto it so they would not dig. After that, the structure was a pretty small single floor with a 2x2 ramps pillar in the middle and for "windows" we used thin pillars. The second floor was a cage for shooting vultures and sniping further out. The main feature was two sets of zig-zagged doors, such that you could shoot throu

  32. I was wondering about the command I ran in console though. It show the speed as 1333 and not 1600. Am not complaining about my speed as everything seems to run ok for me but if I could get a little boost I wouldn't mind. Maybe I will go to bios and check it out straight from the horses mouth Edit: Ok so went into bios and XMP was disabled. I turned it on (only 2 settings....disable and profile 1 so chose profile 1) and now it shows 1600 for speed. Not sure how much difference it will make going from 1333 to 1600 but now at least it is how it should be I suppose.

  33. I was thinking more along the lines of "attracting" settlers/survivors after you declare an area to be a settlement (with something like a land claim block). This way the player still has the same early game as he does now, and isn't pushed/rushed into the settlement portion of the game. There would be advantages to having settlers as well as the liability of keeping them safe. There could be quests to rescue special settlers which would add their unique features/abilities to your settlement. Dr. Angie - Can cure infection. Farmer Ed - Auto harvesting. Agent Hank Kim

  37. AKA "exploit" or "cheesing", to some people. Anything other than 100% random behavior will have patterns. Patterns which can be studied and exploited cheesed overcome with attention to detail and planning. There is no cheese. There is only the enemy's behavior and your behavior, and if you survive to fight another day, you win. That said, of course we all want TFP to fine-tune and polish the enemy's behavior until they are (more) worthy opponents. Still won't mean that we can't find repeatable strategies to overcome them. Which will then be labled as "exploits" and "cheese" by folk

  40. The simple reason many people "exploit" during BM nights is: There currently is no reason to kill the hordes of zombies. Now, if there was a reason... -The zombies you kill, reduces the power of darkness (JC Channel uses better terminology and lore) which causes some good things to occur. -Killing a full hordes worth of BM zombies will keep (Zombie Game Stage) at manageable levels. Otherwise you will be seeing the green zombies very soon! Just another reason to separate Loot GS and Zombie GS.

  41. I pretty much can't play vanilla 7dtd anymore as its to be frank just to boring now with the current loot setup in a19. A20 will help though I am not liking the idea of gamestaged trader inventories. Finding a nice gun or something in there in a19 was the only way I could stand a19. Though I will have to try it when a20 hits experimental and see how it is, as we've not really seen it in action at all yet just heard it discussed, but.. I'm not going to hold my breath, as TFP has made a ton of very questionable design decisions since a17 imo. Removal of LBD, the dungeon style poi's w

  42. There are reasons against and for doing it this way. The easy alternative that horde night is over immediately would be just as bad. The way it is now also changes almost nothing for any horde night after about the third or fourth because by then the horde night is going all night long anyway The optimum would be if the game could remember exactly where it left off, but that feature would cost precious developer time and changes to the savegame and the priorities of TFP seem to be elsewhere (bandits, better RWG, ...). Idea for the devs: If you just used the elapsed time

  48. Two points: 1) players who destroy their own game experience by nerd poling have absolutely no argument to complain about it and should get a lifetime ban from the forum if they do, because that's the perfect evidence of own stupidity (sorry if that sounds harsh, but those people are imho pure idiots anyway) 2) change the pois to not have the main loot just on top... And in this point madmole is absolutely right, because those people mostly complain about RNG, but random containers would just take RNG further.
