  2. Attempt at creating a detailed HUD with a minimalist feel, yet more space to see! NEW UPDATE! This version (1.07) is one that I personally like the best so far, as I tried to combine the best qualities of each version prior to this. I also removed an aspect that pulled on performance a bit. I finally upgraded my old potato laptop (Core i5 3xxx, GTX960M) to a top-of-the-middle-of-the-line Acer Helios 300 (i7 10xxx, RTX 2060), tossed in a 1TB WD Black, got the shovelware removed, set up Steam and 7D2D to enjoy the amazing visuals and rock-solid full-screen performance of... ...25 FPS. That can't be right. Drop it down to "High" settings. 26 FPS. Drop down to "Medium" (the potato ran at Medium+ at 40FPS, mind, though in a 16x9 window). 27 FPS. Drop down to "Low". 30FPS.   5. You aren't the only one. The entire dev team also remember and will never again go back to a crafting only model. They are still dialing in to the perfect balance between crafting and looting and I personally like A19's stab at it. Crafting definitely got a boost over A18. Once the gamestage modifiers for locations are in, there will be places you will be able to go to in order to have a better chance at getting weapon parts and weapons in loot earlier if that is what you want. Craftable gun parts? Never going to happen outside of a mod.

  7. Yeah I saw that. Pros: Maybe Bethesda won't have to hand hold all the small studios Zenimax bought that make crappy games and delay fallout 5 and ES6, Starfield. Cons: Might see xbox exclusives and PC guys get screwed. Might see new games bundled with their bs subscriptions. Might see the end of mods (not likely as bethesda worked with xbox to get mods on there.)

Lots of stuff is off-topic in Dev Diary but allowed somewhere else. The "jokers" are probably ok with pushing people away from giving their opinions, when it is different from theirs, so your appeal isn't really working. There is no rule to not argue other ideas.   11. There definitely should be more black zombies and for Arizona a hispanic might be appropriate too. But wtf, what have you been looking at? There are at least 3 weak males (including the asian, the surfer guy, the bussiness man). There are one or two strong females. Except for the party girl and maybe Trader Jen there are no sexualized females (unless you really have a few strange fetishes 😉). Do you really think TFP will listen to you if you kill your own argument with hyperbole?

  12. It is easier if you tell them what is wrong with the balance of the base game instead of listing a mod that improves that part. Because otherwise they would need to download the mod and analyze it. Why should they? Just tell them whats wrong in the vanilla game. Then they decide if and what to change. That may be a different change than the mod does because they have different goals for the vanilla game than the mod author and you. The mods-are-off-topic rule is from Madmole himself.   17. Yes. We already noticed that since the surface signals have been introduced. If you dig anywhere you still have good chance to find ores. The surfaces rocks are just signals for surface near occurences. And if i dig at an coal sign i basically always end up finding also other ressources that have absolutely no sign on the surface nearby.

  21. No we are players in front of a computer Do not underestimate the cavemen. They were much more survivable and inventive than many people today. Because you can easily pick up a stone but not scrap metal. At least in this game.

I'm kind of horrified that its happening, but also don't think there's much that can be done about it at present. 19 stable is out, and a new discussion hasn't been created. Perhaps the devs are run off their feet at the moment and will create a thread when they have more time to listen to our suggestions. Personally, I'm going to hold off any further ideas i get and wait to see for now. Is there an actual rule list on this type of thread? Community guidelines? Just for future reference.   23. well ultimate solution for tool /shotgun crates in stone age would be finding broken useless guns .. that can be scraped for parts:D its likely only way to fix " immersion of sealed boxes full of stone tools" that doesnt completely annihilate progression

  29. I remember back in A17, when you could craft everything without parts. The forum was full of complaints that looting has become meaningless and that people never leave their base.

  30. You will need to put your generated map in world folder on server and move the complete save folder in app data to app data on server. Make sure you add prefabs to prefab folder on server as well if not just a vanilla map. Make sure you change config world to new map as well. It will trigger a new world download when you log in again, but will start you right where you left off

  32. I recently discovered this game, and I wanted to say thank you so much for creating this world generator! For some reason I can run the game itself just fine, but every time I went to generate a random map with the game's built in generator, the game would just crash. With the app you made, I was finally able to generate a random map with no problem on the first attempt. Once again, thank you for making this!

  33. I recently passed the 2000 hour mark and celebrated by writing a steam review. Needless to say it was a huge thumbs up I crafted my first axe in Nov 2016 in A15 and have not strayed far from this game ever since. I go play something else for short periods but this game, much like the Mafia, keeps dragging me back. (Godfather reference) The only annoyance I have with this game right now is the fact that a shotgun is a POI destroyer! I've lost count of the times that I've shotgun blasted a zombie through the floor. I know that it only happens to wood blocks but going

You think I don’t know the rules for this thread let alone the whole forum and that I just go off assumptions based upon emotional outbursts by Madmole and never have direct conversations with him where he says, “Roland, let’s try and do a better job keeping the mod talk out of the dev diary”? When you say that sometimes a mod brings better balance, what you mean is that a mod sometimes makes the game feel better and more fun FOR YOU.   42. Very detailed observations. I agree with your assessment. I was not aware of the player model loading point as a focal point. I have a gut feeling part of the issue is POI density related (e.g. the more POIs packed in a given area). I believe both the compopack and nitrogen both have a higher POI density configuration in relation to vanilla.

  44. That's not how this works, though. If the issue could be from a wide range of factors, as you say, then a dev is not going to waste their time tracking it down. As faatal said, he has not seen a ticket with repro steps and therefore has not looked at it. I can almost guarantee he won't until he receives a ticket. They have a testing team for a reason - to validate bugs and pass along repro steps to the devs so they can fix. So no offence but what you'd rather do is a waste of everyone's time.

  45. Entropic Mayhem Episode 2. Survivor’s Journal: Day 2: Some Hunger Fat dude was busting on the wall of the house i was trying to repair, he definitely learned today. Found a new toolbelt, can hold more spears on it now. The new boss gave me two new jobs and i found a sick cave that i may turn into the headquarters for my Mining Operation.   47. I found a solution that worked for me. In the steam settings there is shader precaching, and I had one of the boxes checked when I started. I tried the game with nothing checked and the phantom block issue is gone. You can still see them from about 150 meters, but once you get close they go away. Worth a shot for anyone having this issue

  48. The press release that was posted last October is still the current stance of The Fun Pimps. In a live stream on Monday, Richard Huenink, stated that the only way to continue to bring 7 Days to Die to console would have to be a new game based on the fully completed PC game and made to run on the next generation of consoles. Therefore, there will be no more updates for the XBOX 1 and PS4 versions of 7 Days to Die.
