From a gamer's perspective, you are correct. But from a creator's perspective, you want your work to be seen as exemplary in all ways. It is in the best interest of TFP for their game to receive high marks in graphics, coding, fun-factor, replayability, moddability, etc. Think of it as gymnastics or diving-- Scores are greatly affected by technical prowess and degree of difficulty and not just how fun the routine or dive was. TFP want players to have fun but they also want their peers in their field to respect what they were able to do graphically in a voxel world. They want to optimize the game for the players but they also want to hear from people in the industry praise about their code. They want best marks in all areas of their creation. Besides, for every person who will give a game a chance regardless of how it looks graphically and appreciate it's fun-factor without regard to its aesthetics, there are ten or more others who won't touch it if is visually displeasing.

For anyone else with the above question, 1) Download the 7 Days To Die Dedicated version through Steam, under Tools 2) In DMT, click on Settings and Add Game Location, pointing to the Dedicated version 3) Build as normal 4) Using an FTP software, upload the following files and folders: 7DaysToDieServer_Data/Managed/Assembly-CSharp.dll 7DaysToDieServer_Data/Managed/DMT.dll 7DaysToDieServer_Data/Managed/0-Harmony.dll 7DaysToDieServer_Data/Managed/Mods.dll Mods/ If your server host does not allow you to replace Assembly-CSharp.dll, then that server host does not support DMT mods.

The desert is an advanced biome. If you want to stay there as a low-level character you have to find clothes that cool you. And yes, good armor won't cool you, but cooling mesh mods that you can put into the armor will. Normally you don't have all that as a low-level, so the other choices are investing in the perk "Well insulated" or simply, trivially .......... take lots of water with you.
