    Status: NEW

    Bug Description:

    When generating a map, the game crashed (crashed to the desktop, this is not the first time, there were also freezes when creating a map (mainly when displaying the created map in the map generation section))

    Detailed steps to reproduce the bug:

    1) Click on New game

    2) Choose the world "New random world", and choose "World size - 10240"

    3) Click on Advenced Generation

    4) Choose:

    Towns: Few

    Wilderness POI's: Many

    Rivers: Few

    Plains: <30

    Hills: <30

    Mountains: 50<

    Snow: 30>

    Pine Forest: <20

    Desert: <20

    Wastelend: 40>

    Preview Quality: Default

    Actual result: A completely hovering game or crash game during, or after the end of the Generation New World.

    Expected result: A newly generated world that you can play right away without going to the program.

    Application ran out of memory. It was also extremely slow and the response to Steam network failing because of it. The latter is likely due to it being an archaic laptop CPU.

     

    If you have set a custom pagefile, don't do that, as it will cause this issue.

     

    Otherwise, I would consider that this PC is objectively too old, and that TFP needs to update the minimum specs to be much less vague than they are now.
